Alternative keyboard modules for RiscPCs
========================================

These modules are the result of using Nick Craig-Wood's riscpckeys
patcher (which is also on Hensa). I offer this archive containing the
resulting modules rather than just the patching code because the
modules available on newer systems are incompatible or missing so
it's not possible to actually perform the patch anymore.

What do the modules do?
-----------------------

- Keyboard+ swaps the left Ctrl Key and the CapsLock key. This allows
you to put the Ctrl key next to 'a' on PS/2 keyboards, where it
  belongs.

- IntKeyBrd+ is a keyboard handler for US layout keyboards (i.e. flat
return key with the backslash above).

So all in all these two modules allow you to have almost the same
layout on a RiscPC that you had on an A5000 (bar the pound key).
The ultimate layout for programmers and TeXers.

In order to activate the modules you should rmload them in the
PreDesk boot phase (don't do rmensure as the versions might be older
than the ones you have in ROM). If you don't have a US layout keyboard
I wouldn't recommend using IntKeyBrd+, however, and just stick with
Keyboard+ to swap Ctrl and CapsLock.

Legalities:
-----------

I don't know about the legal details of these modules. I don't expect
any trouble from making them publicly available, however, because
every Acorn machine comes with and requires keyboard handler modules
and these are just alternative variants that were created from the
originals. In case you spread this archive, please do it in its
entirety only, i.e. including this ReadMe file.
