FilerPatch v1.00 21/7/97          Copyright  1997 Robin Watts/Matthew Bullock
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~          ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This is a ROM Patch for RISC OS 3.50 and above to patch the filer so that it
doesn't chicken out of sorting big directories.
To install this patch, copy the FilerPatch directory into !Boot.Utils, and the
!FilerPtch script into !Boot.Choices.Boot.PreDesk (on RISC OS 3.7 and above),
or !Boot.Choices.Boot.Tasks (for RISC OS 3.50 and 3.60).
RISC OS 3.50 users only: If you have Acorn's ROM patch on your system (it will
be called !ROMPatch in your !Boot.Choices.Boot.Tasks directory). Then you must
rename it to !!ROMPatch (add a !). This is to ensure that it is run before
FilerPatch.
The ROM patch can be removed at any time by pressing F12 and typing:
RMKill FilerROMPatch
To remove it permanently, you have to delete the !FilerPtch script and the
FilerPatch directory.
If you have an older version of RISC OS, please use the !FilerPtch application
that should have been supplied with this utility.
Many thanks are due to Matthew Bullock for taking my original rudimentary
patching app, and transforming it into the lovely ROM Patch you see before
you.
Distribution:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~

This may be freely distributed via the Internet provided that this message
is included in all copies. It may also be copied from person to person where
no charge is made under the same conditions.

Anyone wishing to distribute this patch via a PD library, magazine cover
disc, with a commercial piece of software, or in any other way must contact
me for permission first. Such permission will usually be granted, but I want
to keep track of what happens with it (and avoid getting emails from people
asking about out of date versions that have been put on CDs etc without my
permission - not that this has happened before, oh no).

Thanks to Matt Rix, and Stewart Brodie for suggestions, and to Paul Gardiner
and Helen Rogers for putting up with me.
