Q: Where's the dithering?

A: Megumi uses lossless image decoding, i.e. all information in the orginal
file is preserved. Any attempt to dither has therefore to be done during the
redraw request of the Wimp. To be screenmode idependent, the created sprite
is plotted to the screen using OS_SpriteOp and ColourTrans. OS_SpriteOp has
a special flag for plotting to high-color modes, but none for dithering (or
even anti-aliasing for zooming). And I'm not going to write a new mode
   independent sprite plotting routine.

If you have VRAM, you won't need dithering at all. And dithering often
reduces quality of Anime style images.

Q: Why are ECCs rejected sometimes?

A: The ECC decoder works with a lot of files. That doesn't mean it will work
with all of your files, but at least the filetype detection will work.
If Megumi refuses to decode some of your files or some animations look a
bit strange, contact me and I'll try to fix the problem.

Q: What about some other picture formats ?

A: It is possible to add further image formats. I need complete information of
the file format and a good reason to spend my time implementing it,
especially if the format is complex or the graphic data is heavily
   compressed.

Remember, Megumi was developed with Anime images in mind. She was not
intended to be a replacement for ChangeFSI. And she is definitly not the
   RiscOS implementation of xv.

Don't be scared off. Just think before you ask.
