What does SearchCD do?
=======================

SearchCD will open all directories and their subdirectories that have
been dropped onto its window. It assumes that you have CDFix installed.

Why was it written?
===================

I have a large collection of PC format CD ROMS and it is a pain in the
neck to have to open all the directories one at a time in the hunt for
usefull data. This little program opens the lot - and closes them all
afterwards as a bonus.

Limitations
===========

The search functions have not yet been implemented and the directory
hierachy should not be deeper than about 50. I don't know the actual
limit as it depends on the length of the path string. If it is longer
than 256 letters, BASIC can't cope with it.

SearchCD can only close 1000 directories - more than that and you are on
your own

How to use SearchCD
===================

Double click in the usual manner and press select on the icon on the
icon bar. A window will open giving you many choices - most of these
do not work as yet.

You can open this help text - which you will already have discovered,
with the help button.

Dropping a selection of directories or indeed any mixture of files,
onto this window will cause all directories and their sub-directories
to be opened. This may take some time, depending on the number of
files that have to be processed. The current parent directory is also
displayed.

The directory windows are all aligned. This makes it very easy to
close them one at a time, as all you have to do is move the mouse
over the close window icon and click to your hearts content.

If you have CDFix installed - and you should if you want an easy life,
you can now instantly see which directory display contains the file type
you are after.

Any directories left open can be closed with the 'Close all' button.

Have fun

Jochen
