About the program
-----------------
Normally, you play GoBang against the computer. You play with white stones,
the computer with black stones. To make a move, point to the right position
using the mouse and click with select or adjust. The white stone will appear
and after a short moment the computer will play his move. This continues
until either you or the computer wins or (very rarely) all positions are
filled. To start a new game, choose the option NEW GAME from the commands
menu. To stop playing choose the option QUIT from the commands menu.

About strategy
--------------

This information is meant to people who never played GoBang before. GoBang is
a game of attack and defense. While attacking (by forming rows of stones),
you also have to take care your opponent does not form rows himself, and when
the opponent is attacking, you have to defend in such a way that you attack
at the same time.
Here are some basic rules that apply most of the time:

 * Play your stones near to other stones.

 * When you can make a row of 4 with empty positions on both sides, you win
unless your opponent can win in this move.

 * It is very important to form rows of length 3 with empty positions on both
sides. If the other does not defend, ie places a stone in one of the empty
positions bordering the row, you will normally be able to win. Hence, you
should try to make such rows and defend them when your opponent makes them.

 * If you construct a row of 3 or 4 stones, you force your opponent to make
some specific moves. Often, you can use this.

 * If you can make 2 rows of 3 or 4 in a move, this often means that you win.
Hence, you should try to make such things and take care that your opponent
cannot make them.

 * Watch out for diagonal rows. You often miss them.

 * The computer never makes a move without a good reason.
