                        --------------------------------
                         SRDesign v1.10 (21st Aug 1998)
                        --------------------------------

NOTE: Before sending bug reports, please read the 'Notes' section below...
This is an BETA version so take care, and don't do too much to a track unless
you're satisfied that the program is working properly. Always keep backups!
You have been warned...

Copyright
---------

This desktop verion of the SR2000 track designer was written by David O'Shea with templates, some sprites, and lots of ideas and testing by Robert O'Sullivan. The original version was written by Andrew Hutchings of Fednet,
and released into the Public Domain due to Nathan Atkinson of VOTI. For
details of how this came about, read the OrigHelp text file.

Thanks to
---------

Fednet for writing SR2000 and releasing the original editor.

Nathan Atkinson for bugging Fednet to release the editor, supplying alternative sprites and ideas, and being generally helpful.

Keith McKillop for his help with working out the compression algorithm and for the rec files information. I'll use it soon, I promise!

Compressed tracks
-----------------

This version of the editor can save compressed tracks using the Comp module
supplied with the original editor. It can also load compressed tracks with
the DeComp module written by me (David O'Shea). Both these modules are
supplied. The DeComp module can be distributed at will providing no charge is
made for it. You can of course also load and save uncompressed tracks.

Instructions
------------

  The toolbar

If you ever need a reminder of what each button does, use interactive
help. What do you mean the icons are useless? :-)

The first tool is the Zoom tool. When this is selected, you can zoom in
and out easily. Select zooms in where you click, and adjust zooms back out
   again.

Next up, the Modify tool. With this tool, you can drag pieces about with
select, and delete them with adjust. If you do either of these things, a
"copy" of the piece is kept, and can be placed with the Add tool, so if
you want to copy a piece, you can delete it (pick it up) and then place
   copies where ever you wish.

The next tool is the Add tool. This is used to add new pieces to a track.
If you move the mouse without pressing any buttons, you see the piece
you're about to place. Clicking select will put the piece down. Clicking
adjust will modify the piece, eg by rotating it in the case of a bend,
changing it (cactus->tree->cactus), etc. Note that there are some pieces
which can only face in certain directions!

Then we have the Camera tool. When you have this tool selected, you can
see where all the tracking cameras are currently placed. Clicking select
will add a tracking camera, and adjust will remove one. You can't add them
right next to one another. If you try, you will just get a beep.

The Transport gate tool is next. This will show you where each transport
gate will warp you to. Clicking select will change it's position. Clicking
adjust will change which gate you're modifying.

And finally, the Ball tool. This shows where the footballs are currently.
As usual, adjust deletes and select adds. You can have a maximum of four
footballs. Try to add more and you'll be beeped at!

  Useful hints

To change the height of a piece already in the track, go to the modify
tool and delete the piece. Now pick the add tool, change the height to the
correct value and add the piece back in again.
