Challenge Tetris written by the Manic Hacker

 Objective

To fit the playing pieces, each consisting of four blocks, together with as
few gaps as possible, using left, right, drop, and rotate controls. The
playing area is divided into two columns.
In either column, when one or more lines of ten squares is filled, then
that line disappears, all the blocks above fall down by one line, and, in a
very nasty move indeed, all the blocks on the same line and above, in the
opposite column, move up one line...

 Running from the desktop

The game will happily sit on the icon bar. Its icon is the same as its
application icon - a red reversed R for the less observant amongst you.
Clicking Select or Adjust on this will take you to the game's title screen.
Clicking Menu will open a small menu with two options: Play game (again,
it takes you to the title page) and Quit which speaks for itself.
You will find that you cannot run more than one copy at a time.
The game can also be run from without.

 One player mode

Pieces fall, one at a time, down each side of the playing area.
A life is lost when a piece lands at the top of either playing column, ie.
it cannot fall. When this happens, the number of blocks in the bottom ten
lines of that column is counted and added to your score, then deleted, and
the blocks above all fall by ten lines.
If a block is pushed up to the top line in the opposite column, the same
thing happens, except that you do not lose a life.
Try to complete as many lines at a time as you can!
You start with three lives, on the level as defined on the setup screen.

 Two player mode

Each player controls one column, with player 1 on the left.
You lose when a piece lands at the top of your playing column, or when a
block is pushed up to your top line. When this happens, the number of blocks
in the bottom ten lines of that column is counted and added to your score,
then deleted, and the blocks above all fall by ten lines. When your opponent
completes a line, the blocks on your side are not pushed up until your
playing piece has landed.
The first player to win 5 games is the overall winner.

 Control methods

You can make use of the joystick ports on the A3010. Player 1 uses the
left-hand port, leaving the right-hand port for player 2.
Failing that, there's always the keyboard! The default keys are:

         Player 1 Player 2 Joystick
 Left Z kp 1 (,) Left
 Right X kp 2 (.) Right
 Drop / (C) kp 5 (') Down
 Rotate Ret (G) kp - (#) Fire
 Quit ` PgUp use keys

The keys in brackets are the equivalents used on the A4. In two player
mode, both quit keys must be used together.

These keys may at any time (NOT on the desktop!) be used to control the
sound:

F1 Music on F2 Music off
F3 FX on F4 FX off

 They are not redefinable.

 The setup screen (title page)

The control method and key definition icons are in two columns - left for
player 1, right for player 2. To set the control method, click on the
appropriate key or joystick icon. To define a keyboard control, click on its
current definition, then press the required key. You cannot have one key
with two functions.
To set the start level for one player mode, click on the and icons on
the Level line.
Two player mode is set if a control method is selected for player 2. If you
click on player 2's icon, one player mode will be selected. Player 1's
icon has no effect, unless the game was run from the desktop, in which
case clicking Adjust here will return you to the desktop, as will
CTRL-Escape, unless you loaded the game from without the desktop, in which
case the game is exited completely.
To start the game, click on the title or press the Rotate key/button (in
two player mode, both need to be pressed simultaneously).
The music can be toggled on and off by clicking on the pair of quavers
icon, left of The Manic Hacker. The sound effects can be similarly toggled
by clicking on the FX icon opposite.
The current control options are highlighted with the deselected options
greyed out. In one player mode, only player 1's is highlighted; in two
player mode, both are highlighted.
The high score table is only used in one player mode due to the differences
in gameplay.

 Sound

TrackerModule by F. Mercier, H. Fiennes and M. Farrow is used in this
game. Version 4.09 is supplied, along with TrackerLibrary which is of my
own devising. It's an easy way to have several programs such as this game
sharing one TrackerModule.
